Different Hair Styles

There are different hair styles. Each hairstyles are done differently and cared differently. The most common hair style, that is seen
as a protective style, is box braids. Box braids been around for a very long time, alot of African Americans women wear this hairstyle.
They can vary in size and style. Box braids can come in really small braids, medium size or large or jumbo size braids. You can have your
box braids in a bob or down your back. Like any protective stlye, box braids can give the hair a rest. It can also grow the hair out and
when you take out the hair you can see the difference. To care for it, the scalp has to be conditioned with hair oil and to prevent scalp
build up, washing and conditioning is a must. Using a blow dryer with a diffuser attachment can help dry your hair. To wash the hair and
condition it, putting shampoo and water in a spray bottle or nozzle bottle can help to get in between the scalp and the hair. Another protective
style is a twist, there are passion twist and regular twist, and havana twist. They too require the same care as the box braids. There are
different variation to do box braids, some are in ponytails or they can be used as individuals as half cornrolls and half box braids.
Black women can also can get cornrolls which is form of a protective style. Weaves and wigs can be use a protective style to protect the
hair from the natural elements and let it grow. Weaves and wig have involve so much especially wigs, where one can have a lace front. The
lace front is seamless and unnoticeable. You wouldn't know if the individual is wearing a wig.

Natural hair doesn't stop at braids, twists and wigs. Black women take their natural hair, that grow straight out their scalp, and
style it. They can braid their hair into cornrolls, do twist out, where they twist the hair and untwist in the morning. Another style
is bantu knots where you take the hair and twist it, not in two strands but the whole piece. You twist the hair and then roll it into a knot.
A lot of black women braid their hair into different styles, such as a halo braid, braid up to a bun or ponytail. They can have ponytail puffs where
its not a regular ponytail. Slick the hair with hair gel where it can be found at the local hair supply store and slick it with a bristle brush.
Gotta make sure the hair is combed through so there is no knots or tangles. Black women also wear afros, afros are maintained, they are moisturized and
picked out or combed out to get it to look big fluffy.

Young black kids have different hairstyles that fit their age. Mothers give their daughters and sons braids, twists and even dreadlocs. Young girls are seen with
small pigtails that are either twisted or braided. They are secured with an berret at the end or black small rubber bands. They have cornrolls that have different designs
and at the end of their braids there are beads that are colorful or nude browns. Now that mothers know how to do natural hair styles they can give their sons and daughters
natural hair styles. Kids can rock an afro, twist outs, braids and much more. They can go to school with their natural hair. Also they can have their hair pressed out
or wear box braids to school.
